The trifecta consists of an iPad mini (with a set of earbuds), everchanging reading material, and the Sony SLR. They are the perfect tools to help me on the mission to define my cool. To create it in reality. And lovingly share it with anybody who may give a monkeys!
A tabletop snapshot says just about everything I'm currently spending my time trying to put into words.
The iPad then. To paraphrase Dr. Dre, its my mobile library of eargasms. And the good Dr. features in there, don't you worry about that. I love me some hip-hop. Rap was my first taste though. A vivid memory of a December 25th, not as many years ago as I'd like to believe, saw me recieve my first single. A copy of Lose Yourself. After that, the first album choice was a no brainer. Get Rich or Die Tryin'. 50's ascension.
Since, these rap seeds have a grown a great willow tree of a music taste. Above ground, Hip-Hop. Rap. And R&B are the main branches off the trunk, but I'll listen to all sorts. I'm something of a fiend for a fresh hip-hop sound. A lesser known artist on the come-up. Or a hot mixtape.
Below ground, the roots of everything above. Blues. Jazz. Funk. My listenings began with the original Curtis. Mayfield. As a History graduate, it's a natural progression to discover the beginnings. And I love the way these guys make that music that you feel! You gotta feel it!
Now. Inbetweeners Neil may think of reading as just a slow version of television, but for Will Smith it's one of his two key's to life...I think I'm siding with His Royal Freshness on this one!
I love greatness, so most of what I'll read will be about great people. Or rather people who've made it to greatness. Doesn't really matter too much in what area they did it. Just know, if it's not interesting I won't share. Most recent for me was Miles Davis, written by himself. A masterpiece. He was undoubtedly one of the coldest cats in the jazz game.
I'm no pro with the Sony, but anybody can learn. And every blog needs that digital window. Through my window you'll catch fitness. No dumbells though. They went out the window over a year ago (2nd floor, down to the patio below..[I'm just trippin'!]).
Alternative workouts has been me for all but 1 day this year so far, having spent a lovely morning bringing up everything I had in me. Calisthenics, jump rope and gymtastic sessions with the odd flip if I'm feeling sketchy... I'm very to keen to see what anybody might think of my grind.
And that's the Word to Big Bird!
But. Remember. It's a lifestyle blog. And so, just like parley for a bunch a pirates from the Carribbean, it's "..more of a set guidelines than actual rules".
